My biggest inspiration is the ocean. I love it in all its guises; from gently lapping wavelets on the sand to crashing mountainous waves that pound the cliffs. If I can’t be in it I will gaze at it for hours; the colours, the ever changing beauty…that is still somehow eternally the same.

I have always found the ocean a source of great healing for the soul. A place where the calm can seep in to you or the surf can wash over you. Where you can sink into the changing colours from crystal clear to deepest blue.

Glass is such a great medium to bring that raw elemental power of the ocean to your home. It is smooth like silky water, tactile and sensory. The layers build and the shades intensify giving such depth. It sparkles in the sunlight just like a still rock pool riffled by the breeze.

While I love to make many things from glass, I always return to the blues and greens of the ocean and create abstracts that speak to me of its nature. You can explore some of them here.
