West Wheal Owles

West Wheal Owles is found on the north Cornish cost near St Just. Some may recognise it as Ross Poldark’so mine, Wheal Leisure.

The Cornish engine house is synonymous with the industrial landscape and heritage of the county. For many they conjure up a connection with the past with a whisper of miners and bal maidens in the air.

The engine house in this piece is hand cut from sheet copper and embossed with stonework details before being encapsulated between sheets of glass. The heat of the kiln turns is from shiny copper to a rich red with flashes of blue.

It is supplied with standoffs for wall mounting.
