Cross Currents

Cross Currents speaks to the things in life that knock us off course; sometimes we see them coming, sometimes we don’t, sometimes they look like blessings but aren’t, sometimes they look like disasters but aren’t, sometimes all seems smooth sailing to those looking in, sometimes they see the turmoil…

If you’ve been here a while you know that the ocean isn’t only my inspiration but also, to my mind, the perfect analogy for the ups and downs (and currents and tempests) of life.

I’ve used all the blues and sea greens for this piece as well as the most beautifully subtle clear iridescent for the river running across the panels. Each ribbon of glass was precisely cut as it crossed to the next panel and don’t to the feeling of flowing water.

Each panel is 40cm tall and 15cm wide and is supplied with stand offs for wall mounting.
